1. Controller
Jimmi Eriksson Gastronomi AB, a company registered in Sweden and trading as "Podiumchef", is the data controller for personal data processed in the Podiumchef application. Contact: support@podiumchef.com.
2. Personal data we collect, why, and on what legal basis
- Account data (name, email address, login credentials, language and theme preferences, chosen plan) — to create and administer your account and provide the Service. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Content you create (recipes, ingredients, mise en place lists, schedules, timers, competition entries and deadlines, uploaded competition documents, images of dishes and tests) — to deliver the features you use and share content with your team. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Team data (team name, member roles, invitations, who completed a task) — to operate team collaboration. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in providing team features.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
- Usage and technical data (log data, device identifiers, IP address, error and performance telemetry) — for security, abuse and fraud prevention, troubleshooting and improving the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Subscription status (plan, trial and renewal dates, status received from our payment provider) — to give you access to paid features and send trial reminders. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation (accounting).
Payment card details are never collected or stored by us; they are handled by Paddle as the Merchant of Record.
3. Sharing your data
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database, file storage, email delivery for transactional messages, AI providers used to interpret documents you upload, and error monitoring.
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, for the sale of our product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Your team — content you add to a team is visible to the members of that team.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA/UK. Where that happens we rely on adequacy decisions or EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with appropriate technical safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, content is deleted or anonymised within 90 days, except where we must keep records longer to comply with legal obligations (for example accounting records, normally 7 years in Sweden). Logs are kept for a short period, typically up to 12 months.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us at support@podiumchef.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Sweden, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest with our hosting provider, row-level access controls so that data is only reachable by you and your team, and restricted administrative access.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and local storage only: to keep you signed in and to remember your language and theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies. Our checkout provider Paddle may set cookies necessary to complete a purchase. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but the Service may then not work correctly.
9. Changes
We may update this notice. Material changes will be announced by email or in the app.
